Quarterbacks, wideouts ruling the roost in Week 7

The NFL has become a passing league in recent seasons — that’s been evident in Week 7. Check out the huge numbers that quarterbacks posted in the first set of afternoon games:

Matt Ryan vs. Bengals: 299 yards, 3 TDs
Carson Palmer at Falcons: 412 yards, 3 TDs
Ben Roethlisberger at Dolphins 302 yards, 2 TDs
Ryan Fitzpatrick at Ravens: 373 yards, 4 TDs
Joe Flacco vs. Bills: 250 yards, 3 TDs
Kerry Collins vs. Eagles: 276 yards, 3 TDs

There were a few other good performances from quarterbacks as well. Unfortunately, Drew Brees’ 356 passing yards and two touchdowns were overshadowed by the fact that he also threw four interceptions in a shocking loss to the Browns.

With quarterbacks thriving, a number of wide receivers also put up huge numbers.

Kenny Britt vs. Eagles: 7 catches, 225 yards, 3 TDs
Roddy White vs. Bengals: 11 catches, 201 yards, 2 TDs
Lee Evans at Ravens: 6 catches, 105 yards, 3 TDs
David Gettis vs. 49ers: 8 catches, 125 yards, 2 TDs

Aside from these monster performances, five other wideouts (Jordan Shipley, Chad Ochocinco, Steve Johnson, Marques Colston, Hines Ward) also put up 100-plus yards.
